Art has been my passion ever since I can remember. As a child, I spent my spare time drawing and painting, and doing art in any form. In those days, my family called me Nadi, as a short form for my name Renate. The nickname has stayed with me, and consequently I use it to sign my art. I enjoy painting flowers, as they are nature at its best. Nature is my greatest inspiration. I paint in oils, watercolors and acrylics. I started to paint in 1995, and have shown my work at several shows in my area around Ottawa, Ontario.

Though I enjoy to paint with oils, I also find great pleasure in playing with watercolours. This form of art has earned me a great many compliments and admirers of my style. This is a sample of my watercolor style. It reflects my love of nature, in form and color. My watercolors are organic abstractions. My style of oil painting has been described as happy, striking, colorful, and even romantic. I love color, and use it as much as possible in all my work. I have more than 80 pieces of artwork , most of them available for purchase. They are all framed, and currently hanging in my home. I will be having a solo exhibition in the Ottawa area in August 1999, and will open my home as part of the "On Common Ground" studio tour in October 1999.
